JBT FoodTech

Manufacturing Plant and Food Processing Technology & Training Center

Hosted by:  Jeremy Stanger, CSP – HSE Manager at JBT FoodTech

JBT Corporation traces its roots to the insecticide sprayer developed by John Bean in the 1880s.  The Bean Spray Pump Company eventually became the iconic FMC Corporation.  The product line expanded over the years, including the famous John Bean High Pressure Fog fire engine pumps.  In Sandusky, JBT operates a large manufacturing facility where products made include industrial-sized ovens, freezers, fryers, breaders, water-jet cutters, oil filters, and other equipment for high-volume protein-based food manufacturing.

Adjoining the manufacturing plant is one of JBTs Food Processing Technology & Training Centers – a focal point for equipment and process development and evaluation. Training sessions are conducted regularly; lessons learned in the Technical Center are carried back to processing plants around the world.
