25 Hazards Related to Steam and Combustion Systems

Presented by John Puskar, President, Prescient Technical Services www.PrescientTS.com

PDF of Meeting Flyer

If your facility has anything to do with boilers, steam systems, and/or process piping there’s something you will learn at this presentation.  Mr. Puskar takes the audience through 25 simple practical hazards related to starting up equipment and piping systems, gas hazards, hot work issues, and common piping and valve issues. The presentation is very entertaining and meant for people with a casual understanding of these systems and equipment. You will leave understanding things you can immediately impact in your operations to reduce risks or “special banana peels laying around” as Mr. Puskar puts it.

Mr. Puskar is a licensed professional engineer in Ohio and a number of other states. He is the 2015 ASME Uzgiris-Barnett National Safety Award winner for his lifetime of work in the fuels and combustion equipment safety world. Mr. Puskar is the author of “Fuels and Combustion Equipment Safety” ( Wiley & Sons), and is currently on 4 NFPA committees and 1 API committee for codes and standards related to fuels and combustion equipment. He is a graduate of Youngstown State University and Case Western Reserve University and currently president of Prescient Technical Services.
