We will be conducting this years Annual Food Drive during the months of September and October. The Greater Cleveland Safety Council (GCSC) will join us in sponsoring the Food Drive. We are asking people from both organizations and their friends to bring nonperishable food items to these luncheon meetings. All items collected will be given to the Greater Cleveland Foodbank, GCFB. The final opportunity for in-person donations and the drawing will be Wednesday, Oct. 15th!
The top ten items most useful are hot or cold cereal, peanut-butter, canned or boxed entrees, canned protein like tuna or chicken, canned fruits and vegetables, whole grain rice and pasta, pasta sauce (low sodium) and 100% juice. These items are most needed, but any nonperishable food item will be accepted.
We are also accepting cash donations. A dollar goes much further when spent by the Foodbank because of their extended buying power. They can stretch each dollar donated to help provide $10 of groceries, including perishable products such as produce, low-fat dairy, and lean protein. Monetary donations will be accepted in the form of cash or check. Checks should be made payable to the Greater Cleveland Foodbank and sent to:

To show our appreciation to those who contributed to the Food Drive, the Safety Council and ASSP will hold a raffle at our October Safety Luncheon Meeting. The raffle prize will be a $100 gift card. Those who participate will receive one raffle ticket for every two cans/items or $2 that they donate. There is no limit on donations or the number of tickets you can have in the prize barrel. Donations will only be accepted at the September and October luncheon meetings. The winner does not have to be present to win. The raffle prize will be available for pick-up at the October luncheon meeting.
These are unique and stressful times and the need for food is even greater than ever in our area. We want to help meet this need but truly need your support. Last year, we collected 148 pounds of food and $709. As this year’s goal, we hope to exceed those amounts. Let’s help those in need, so please be generous.
