Job Title: HSE Manager
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Department: HSE
Reports To: Plant Manager
1. Purpose: The HSE Manager supports the overall facility activity by ensuring ongoing compliance to all required HSE standards, OSHA, Environmental and Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as providing critical resources to maintain the HSE management system as required. The HSE Manager additionally will utilize lean and quality tools in support of projects and assignments within the technical management department.

- Waste Water Treatment
4. Key Result Areas:
- Develop and implement a thorough training program for all manufacturing employees for safety and environmental.
- Work closely with the Management, Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Lab personnel to monitor key safety and environmental aspects.
- Lead the review and analysis of safety concerns, audit actions, to ensure effective containment and corrective actions are implemented as quickly as possible.
- Lead plant efforts to ensure the environmental management system adheres to ISO9001 standards and passes regular external audits to these standards.
- Create visual management tools to highlight HSE activity and encourage continuous improvement. Lean tools are to be utilized in process improvement.
- Act as primary HSE contact for the site – oversee full implementation of corporate safety and environmental standards that insure OSHA and EPA compliance.
- Conduct Training on all required HSE topics for all employees
- Develop annual Site Safety Improvement Plan and lead efforts to implement and complete as planned.
- Ensure all personnel operate wastewater treatment systems effectively and efficiently using tools such as SOP’s, AOP’s, ESOP’s, JSA’s and people development.
- Partner with production customers concerning water flows, chemistries and problem resolution.
- Coordinate resources to ensure proper operations of water treatment systems.
- Provide 24/7 environmental support for water treatment operations. Put in place processes to decrease the number of equipment failures and system malfunctions.
- Lead regular audits and assessments to ensure required Safety, HSE procedures and processes meet standards and are properly followed by the workforce.
- Lead, train, and develop necessary HSE teams and committees that can assist in advancing Safety and HSE compliance and be prepared in event of an emergency.
- Maintain a well-organized and documented Emergency Action Plan and conduct tests of this plan to insure it will be properly followed in times of need.
- Lead all HSE incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Collect all necessary data to submit required Safety and HSE reports in a timely manner.
- Assist in site engineering capex reviews, quality engineering efforts and process improvement projects.

6. Qualifications: 4 years technical or business degree preferred; Formal OSHA, RCRA, GHS, DOT, EPA Training
7. Experience: 5+ years demonstrated experience in a HSE Management role within a manufacturing environment.
8. Knowledge: Must be proficient in OSHA, EPA, and HAZCOM, regulations.Must be familiar with the operation of various types of lab/testing equipment.
